Average Rating: Rating: none - Daughters favorite present My 6 year old daughter received this for a Christmas present, and was so excited to write her own story. She really enjoyed writing about our Christmas, and even had more fun drawing the pictures. But nothing compared to the excitement she felt today when she received her own hardback book today in the mail. Now I am buying another kit, because she can't wait to start writing another one. I highly recommend this for any child. Rating: none - Makes an excellent gift! My son received this last Christmas. This is just the coolest, most unique gift he has ever received. He is in kindergarten and is presently learning all about the parts of a book, such as who is the author, who is the illustrator. He was excited to learn that he could be both! He loves the beach, so we created a story about the beach. We had such a great time with it that I plan on buying a few more to give out as birthday gifts. Rating: none - Don't buy one, get two! Whether your child is already a literary and writing wiz at home and school, or if he or she is finding it frustrating trying these skills, this is perfect. The child who is already doing well with reading and creative writing will enjoy this, no doubt. The child who is struggling will find this to be a fun and engaging project. When they see the end result, it can't help but encourage them just how fabulous reading and writing can be! Even if they have to dictate the story to you, when they see their ideas in print and their photos and art there as well, it could well be a turning point for that child. My son had tons of toys...this was a perfect gift idea. We bought two of them. One story is never enough!
